Why subscribe?
What you will get at Bangernomics is what I’ve been doing for the past 18 years at Autocar and for the 18 years before that at Car. The regular core feature will be Kerbcrawler, to use an old column title, where I will look at a particular sector or model and see what’s available to buy right now. I’ll even be able to put links to the cars, something I have never been allowed to do before. The cars for sale will be current, not weeks out of date. You might be able to actually buy one then tell me how awful they are. Also I will stick to affordable cars, I will keep it to the single figure thousands with some excursions into some slightly more expensive, maybe £10K plus, if we are going exotic. I will upload the Kerbcrawler column every Wednesday.
During the week I will also upload the odd supporting feature. At least two, sometimes more. I’ll tackle used car news topics that affect what and how we drive. There will be articles such as Bangernomics Fixes, not actually being useful and repairing a Triumph Stag, but suggesting just how it might have been improved and not so terrible. There will be the odd Demotorized feature detailing how our motoring freedoms are being curtailed. This is really important as the authorities seek to stop us using older cars.
Otherwise it will be a mix of classic Bangers, my old nails and interviews. Most will be written features, but I may even use the podcast and video format to add some variety.
