Thanks Nicholas for reading the piece and yes I miss Saab every day. Yes contemporary Jags have been great, just badly marketed more recently. As you know I have been consistent on my coolness to electricity cars and teh manufacturers, rather than magazines are paying attention. Appreciate you reading this and hope you enjoy the future content that is coming.

Thanks for replying, James.

You have always been very realistic on EVs, when much of the motoring press seem to be falling over themselves to ignore the obvious limitations. It is interesting that more and more manufacturers seem to be scaling back on their plans and pressuring for more flexibility in the rules. The market seems to be rejecting many of these products now, as seen in the huge depreciation and unsold cars.

I guess I will just stick with my old Jag and Saab for as long as they will let me!

It's good to see you starting with Jaguar. It's a shame that it looks likely to go the same way as my other favourite brand, Saab. Their early electrification plans just look at odds with the way the market is going. Even Volvo announced today that they are watering down their EV plans.

I can vouch for the value of older Jags, though. I've had my 2007 4.2 XK for nearly 7 years now and it is the best car I have owned. Smooth, comfortable and fast enough. It has taken us around the UK and Europe and has never let me down. It has been very reliable, with only wear and tear and a few small items needing to be fixed.
