Yes George the writing in Custom Car was actually superb. Tremendous response to this, so nice to think that there would be people prepared to support a real magazine again.
I read custom car religiously, as well as autocar, motor and car magazine. A shame the business model doesn’t work anymore, there was a lot of great writing going on
Well that struck a chord. As a graphic design student, I did work experience on Custom Car in 1986, under the great Tony Thacker. I traded my magic markers and Cowgum for a typewriter and climbed the Link House ladder to be editor of Triple C in 1995, and then eventually ended working for Clive Househam at CH Publications. It's a small world. Of all the dead car mags, Triple C is the one that I think could stage a come back in some shape or form. Or maybe that's just my rose-tinted goggles? Keep up the great work James. You've always been a great inspiration.
